Buckland Athletic 2nds made it through to the Herald Cup semi-finals withbthis win over gaint killing Babbacombe Corries and they will now meet Denbury Athletic in the semi-final on Friday 2nd April at the Recreational GRound (Newton Spurs), with a 2pm kick off.
Saturday 20th February 2010
Devon Senior Cup Semi-Final
Buckland Athletic 2nds 3-1 Halwill
Holders Buckland have the chance to defend their ophy after disposing of Devon & Exeter League Halwill while the Pens were cruelly beaten 5-4 on penalties by East Cornwall League side Elburton Villa Reserves.
The Bucks took the lead against Halwill on eight minutes when Luke Crowson chipped the ball through for Carl Roles to run onto and slot home from 12 yards. Despite having chances to put the game out of sight, Jim Barrett's men were pegged back 15 minutes from time. They didn't let their heads drop, though, and, within 60 seconds, regained their one-goal advantage after Crowson stabbed the ball goalwards for Lee Pike to nip in and score. Buckland made sure of victory when Pike grabbed his second, smashing into the top-corner after John Coote had flicked Matt Briant's cross into his path.
"It wasn't exactly a vintage performance — Halwill made it hard for us — but the semis are all about making it through," said Barrett, who now has the opportunity to win a piece of county silverware in his first season in charge. "Saying that, I think we responded brilliantly to their equaliser — the lads showed that they will fight to the end and never give up. "It's great to have the chance to defend the trophy the lads won last year."

Dartmouth Cup
Harbertonford 4-1 Buckland Athletic
Buckland Athletic Reserves boss Jim Barrett believes his side's Dartmouth (Division One) Cup exit could be "a blessing in disguise". Zeb Peters hit a hat-trick as the Bucks went down 4-1 to Harbertonford in the first round tie. And although Barrett admitted it was disappointing after the impressive Herald Cup disposal of reigning Premier Division champions Kingskerswell & Chelston just three days previously, he is pleased to finally see a league match in the fixture list. With runs in the Herald and Jail Ale Devon Senior cups – they are through to the quarter-finals and last four respectively – along with the continued weather disruption, Barrett's charges haven't played a Division One game for three months. Progress in the divisional cup would have extended that by at least three weeks with the next stage of all three competitions scheduled to take place this month, but the defeat to Fords means that the Bucks now have a league fixture at Chudleigh to look forward to this Saturday. Barrett said: "You want to do well in all competitions but we're still in both the Herald and Senior cup, and we've got a lot of games left to play in the league, so losing to Harbertonford may be a blessing, taking a bit of pressure off a congested fixture list."
With 12 players unavailable for the trip to the South Hams, the Buckland manager drafted in several players who had not played since last season, including midfielder Neil Edwards. And although they looked the more likely to go on and win when Lee Pike cancelled out Peters' opener five minutes before half time, it proved too big an ask as Fords' superior fitness shone through during the second period. Liam Lindon restored the hosts' lead before Peters notched two more to complete his treble and seal the win.

Old Suttonians 3-3 Buckland Res aet
Buckland Res win 5-4 on penalties
It was with some trepidation that a patched-up Bucks side travelled to Plymouth the week before Christmas to meet the side who were in 2nd place of what used to be called the P&D Premier division. And their mood was not made any brighter when they saw the state of the frozen pitch. With several other local games off, it was soon obvious that Sutts were keen to take the field with their "reinforced" side, and surprisingly, the referee agreed for the game to go ahead.
Despite the somewhat chaotic build-up, Bucks could not have wished for a better start, as they went 1-0 up inside 5 minutes when Karl Green marked his return from a knee operation by forcing home a free kick at the far post. Just 10 minutes later Bucks doubled their lead when a Matt Beer direct free kick found the bottom corner. If Bucks had been thinking they would have an easy afternoon, they were soon to be disappointed. In perennial Plymouth style, Sutts battled hard to get back in to the game, contesting every decision and putting the referee under continuous pressure. All of this led to them gradually getting back in to the game and, at the half, Bucks knew they would face a battle to retain their hold on the Cup.
In truth, the 2nd half was something of a bombardment, with Sutts throwing everything they had at Bucks defence. They got 1 back with 20 minutes to go when their towering centre forward escaped the attentions of Marc Revell to head home a corner. And the inevitable equaliser came with 10 minutes to go when he did the same again from a free kick. Bucks did have their chances on the break, mind, and sub Justin Osborne was especially guilty when he hesitated fatally when clean through.
Having had the wind taken from their sales by such a late equaliser, it was probably in the script for Bucks to fold as the game moved in to the foreshortened 10-minutes each way extra period. In fact, it was Sutts who seemed content to sit on their laurels and Bucks again had the better chances. And this time they took one of them to go 3-2 up with just 5 minutes left, when Mike Turner ran on to an Osborne through ball and slot home from an acute angle. Sutts were furious at an imagined infringement and surrounded the referee but the goal stood. It may be that Sutts complaints worked, however, as, with just 2 minutes left, the ref responded to what seemed to be a swallow dive in the area by pointing to the spot. Up stepped the guesting captain of SWPL Tavistock, Shane Craic, to send Simon Dungey the wrong way and the tie to penalties.
But it was to Bucks who had the last laugh. After Sutts missed the first spot kick, all of Bucks takers found the back of the net. First Matt Briant, then Osborne, Jamie Clifford and Carl Roles scored to allow Chris Bennett to send Bucks through by slotting home the final one, off the post. Bucks will now continue their quest to retain the Cup at home to Plymouth University at the end of January.
Saturday 12th December Devon Senior Cup 3rd Round
Buckland Athletic 3-1 Phoenix Club
Buckland got through a tricky tie to now go forward into the 4th Round of this competition when they beat a very good Phoenix Club side from the Devon and Exeter League 3-1 at Homers Heath on Saturday with two goals from Luke Crowson and a single from Jamie Clifford. match report to follow:
Bucks had been left to stew on their league reversal to Upton for 5 long weeks before the rain relented and allowed them to return to their defence of the Devon Senior Cup against Phoenix Club, of Exeter. Sadly, skipper Paul Scott's knee had not recovered in all that time, and it looks like he will be out for several more weeks.
After such a long time kicking their heels, Bucks could not have dreamt of a better start than going 1-0 up after what was timed as 29 seconds, and without Phoenix even touching the ball. The goal came after a fine run from Carl Roles ended up breaking to Luke Crowson, who coolly threaded the ball in to the bottom corner. Going behind so early shook Phoenix, and Bucks capitalised on their uncertainty by dominating the first half hour. Jamie Clifford led the way down the right, getting ahead of his full back on several occasions. Crowson's second, however, arrived courtesy of a poor kick form the Phoenix keeper, which he lifted home in to the top corner to double Bucks lead. In truth, Bucks could have gone in more than 2 to the good - Chris Bennett hit the bar with a fine strike and both Crowson and Justin Osborne were unable to quite turn home a Matt Briant cross.
Despite being outplayed in the first half, Phoenix had shown enough for Bucks to realise that the second period would not be plain sailing, and so it proved. Their tidy midfield passing gradually began to dominate and it was no surprise when they pulled one back on the hour, as a drive from the right of the area found it's way in to the corner of Simon Dungey's net.
As time went on, and Phoenix pushed forwards for an equaliser, the game became stretched. This allowed Carl Roles to come in to his own and he had a succession of lengthy runs that Bucks could not capitalise upon. Jamie Clifford was the main culprit, firing over when clean through and again from the middle of the area. And Bucks almost paid the price when Phoenix thought they had headed an equaliser, only to find their celebrations cut short by a linesman's offside flag.
And it was Bucks who struck the decisive goal. An Osborne cross-shot had grazed the bar before, with 5 minutes left, Clifford made amends with a controlled left footed drive in to the bottom corner after another mazy Roles run. Bucks defence of the cup now moves to Plymouth next week, weather permitting, when they travel to Old Suttonians of the P&D League.
Saturday 7th November 2009 South Devon league Division One
Buckland Athletic 1-2 Upton Athletic 2nd’s
After getting away with some below par performances in recent weeks, Bucks fell to their second league defeat of the season last Saturday, both of them coming at home. Bucks convincingly beat Upton just 5 weeks earlier, but it was a different side they welcomed to Homers Heath, including a couple of returning first teamers. Their lively forwards kept Bucks defence on their toes and Upton's midfield backed them up by keeping possession well. Bucks played their part, though, and only had themselves to blame that it was scoreless at the half. Both Chris Bennett and Carl Roles missed the target after mazy dribbles and Roles also hit the post from a free kick, with the rebound just evading the onrushing Ryan Piller.
Bucks started the 2nd half in the same vein, with a goalmouth scramble somehow being kept out before their misses all came back to haunt them with 25 minutes to go. First of all, they saw Skipper Paul Scott hobble off with a twisted ankle before Upton took the lead barely a minute later. A mix up between Keeper Dungey and Piller resulted in a through ball down the middle not being dealt with and Upton's Dewdney gratefully tucked the ball home, on the rebound. To make matters worse, Upton doubled their lead 5 minutes later. This time an Upton break down the left wasn't dealt with and saw Dewdney score his second with a header at the far post. In truth, Bucks response to these setbacks wasn't of the quality they might have expected. Their pressure did see Justin Osborne pull one back from a fine Matt Briant through ball, but too often the final ball wasn't decisive enough. Even so, it looked like Bucks might grab the equaliser in injury time when the ball fell to unmarked sub Lee Pike 15 yards out. He struck his shot well, but that it was straight at the keeper just about summed up Bucks day. Bucks will need to be more clinical in front of goal next week when they return to the defence of the Devon Senior Cup at home to Phoenix Club of Exeter.
Saturday 31st October 2009 South Devon League Division One
Paignton Saints 1-5 Buckland Athletic
Clennon Valley on a soggy winter's day is never an afternoon to look forward to, but Bucks contrived to make it an even more forgettable one with possibly their poorest performance of the season. In fitting with the season, it was, indeed, a real Halloween horror show.
Thankfully, Bucks saved the worst for the 2nd half by when they had already built up an unassailable 5-0 half time lead. A few changes meant Bucks took some time getting in to their stride and, after a couple of near misses, there were 25 minutes on the clock before they took the lead. It took an unfortunate own goal for them to do so, when James Wotton's cross was sliced in to the net from the edge of the area. Paul Scott doubled the lead with a firm header from a Matt Briant corner before Justin Osborne bundled home Matt Beer's cross to make it 3. Scott could have had a carbon copy 2nd from another Briant corner but headed just wide before Bucks put the game beyond Paignton with another couple of goals in the last 5 minutes of the half made. First Briant volleyed home an Osborne cross before Jamie Clifford made it 5 with an angled drive on the break.
With 5 already on the scoreboard, perhaps Bucks thoughts at half time were on whether they could get to double figures. If so, they could not have been wider of the mark as Bucks were simply awful in the 2nd period. Their passing, never crisp in the 1st half, disintegrated as the ball seeming turned in to the proverbial hot potato. Saints got on the scoresheet, to ruin manager Jim Barratt's pleas for a clean sheet, when a half-cleared corner was driven home from the edge of the area. The goal gave them a boost and their performance was much improved as the game wore on. Bucks still had plenty of possession but, aside from a John Coote header across the box that sub Lee Pike could not quite turn in, they failed to create anything of note. The best that can be said is that, at the end, Bucks had 6 players under the age of 20 on the pitch with the introductions of youngsters Ross Beer and Max Leaman for the reserve team debuts.
Next week Bucks scheduled Senior Cup tie has been postponed (to allow the identity of their opponents to be sorted out after an appeal to DCFA) and, instead, they have a re-arranged league game at home to Upton Reserves.Saturday 24th October 2009 Herald Cup 1st Round
Kingsteignton Athletic 1st team 2-4 Buckland Athletic
Buckland 2nd's have made it through to the 2nd Round of this season's Herald Cup when they defeated South Devon League Premier Division side Kingsteignton away. They went in at half time 1-0 down but turned it around in the second half to lead 4-1 at one point before Kings pulled one back, the scorers for Buck's was Coote 2, Crowson, Bennett. Match report to follow.
After trailing at the half, Bucks ultimately made it through to the 2nd round of the Herald Cup in convincing style on Saturday.
With a change in formation to 3-5-2 to counter Kingsteignton's tight pitch, Bucks made hard work of it in the first half. Despite that, they could have taken the lead as early as the 2nd minute but Justin Osborne managed to head a corner over from all of 3 yards. Kings' young side hustled Bucks well and a tendency to play the long ball did not suit Bucks midfield. On the half hour, Bucks mounting frustration was added to by the referee allowing himself to be overruled by the Kings' linesman in to disallowing what would have been the opener for a push on the Kings' keeper. Things got worse 5 minutes later. John Coote was penalised for tripping in the box and, despite Simon Dungey saving the resulting penalty, Kings took the lead when the rebound fell kindly for their forward to drive home.
As they needed to, the 2nd half saw Bucks up their performance. Just 4 minutes in, a neat passing move freed Jamie Clifford down the right and his cross was tucked home, on the turn, by Luke Crowson. The game was now all Bucks and the feeling that it would be only a question of time before they went on to win was increased when Kings lost a centre half to a gashed eye. As Bucks increased their pressure, John Coote could not quite turn in an Osborne cross. He made amends 5 minutes later, however, when he put Bucks ahead with a fine header from the edge of the box and Bucks sealed the game with their 3rd with 20 minutes to go. Luke Crowson made it with a fine turn on the by-line which led, after an Osborne air-shot, to Chris Bennett slotting home from 10 yards. Bucks scoring was completed with MOM Coote's 2nd, when the otherwise subdued Carl Roles played him in to lift the ball over the advancing keeper. Veteran Coote saw his hopes of a hat-trick dashed by a linesman's flag before Kings made the score a bit more respectable with their 2nd, from a corner, in the dying minutes.
Not a vintage performance, especially in the first half, but Bucks are through to the next round.Saturday 17th October 2009 South Devon League Division One
Buckland Athletic 7-3 Paignton Villa
The Reserves went second in SDL Division One with this 7-3 win.
Manager Jim Barrett was forced to make changes with Justin Osborne unavailable and both James Wotton and Jamie Clifford suffering from 'flu and starting as substitutes. Lee Pike started up front and Luke Crowson also joined the attack.
A hat-trick from man of the match Crowson and goals from Chris Bennett, Pike, John Coote and skipper Paul Scott gave Bucks a convincing victory, but the performance was below par and didn't get anywhere near the high standards the team had set in earlier games. Nevertheless, that's 7 consecutive wins, including 5 out of 5 in the league. So no-one's complaining. Manager Jim Barrett wasn't completely satisfied with the performance. "We were a little bit below-par and a little sloppy," admitted the Bucks boss. "Don't get me wrong, it was still a good win but we gave the ball away far too much."Saturday 10th October 2009 Devon Senior Cup 2nd Round
Barnstaple AAC Reserves 1-7 Buckland Athletic
Bucks continued their defence of the Senior Cup in emphatic style on Saturday, easing past their lightweight hosts and making it 25 goals in the first 2 rounds of this years competition in the process.
By no means was this a vintage performance, however, but Bucks started well, were 2 up after 20 minutes and were never in trouble thereafter. Justin Osborne had already seen a header cleared off the line before he opened the scoring from a Carl Roles lay-off after quarter of an hour. Roles slotted in the 2nd from the edge of the area 5 minutes later and went on to give another fine display of midfield running which may soon result in a deserved first team call up. Bucks went in to the half 4 goals to the good as, firstly, Matt Briant headed in an Osborne cross at the far post and then returned the compliment for Osborne to score his 2nd from a swinging free kick.
With the result not in doubt, the 2nd half was a flat affair. Briant made it 5-0 with a near post drive and Osborne completed his hat-trick from another Roles cross before John Coote completed Bucks scoring from all of a yard out. It had seemed that the biggest threat to Simon Dungey's goal would come when the keeper lost a through ball in the setting sun but Barnstaple did get a consolation goal with 5 minutes left after Bucks were caught out down their left hand side. All that remained was for Bucks to celebrate their win with an Oasis singalong on the long minibus trip home…….
Saturday 3rd October 2009 South Devon League Division One
Buckland Athletic 1-0 Newton Abbot Spurs
After last weeks high in beating much-fancied Staverton, it was back down to earth with a local derby bump for Bucks on Saturday. Bucks lost Jamie Clifford early on with a heel injury and Spurs seemed much more up for the game, bossing the first half. Indeed, if it hadn't been for a couple of fingertip Simon Dungey saves, Spurs would have gone in to the break with a deserved lead. But they didn't, and, aided by a tactical change in reverting to 5 in midfield, Bucks were much more impressive in the 2nd half. They found Spurs keeper Doyle in fine form, however. He had saved well from Luke Crowson in the first period and continued to defy everything Bucks could throw at him. As time went on, Bucks became increasingly dominant but they still struggled to find a way past Doyle.
Eventually their frustration, and the deadlock, was broken with just 10 minutes left. The match winner, after a couple of off colour weeks, was Matt Briant. Displaying new found fitness, the left winger cut inside and beat a couple of defenders before sending a stinging drive in to the top corner from the angle of the box. It was a goal fit to win any game although the best that can be said about the performance is that winning when not playing well is the sign of a good team….Saturday 26th September 2009 South DEvon League Division One
Buckland Athletic 5-2 Staverton & Landscove
Buckland made it four consecutive league wins since their opening day defeat against Loddiswell, when they defeated a very good Staverton & Landscove side at Homers Heath 5-2. Buck's went ahead early in the game through Justin Osborne, but the visitors quickly equalised and then went on to play the better of the two teams before a made tem minute spell towards the end of the half saw the very quick Buckland side score three times, through Carl Roles, Luke Crowson and then Roles again. Buck's added a fifth in the second half through jamie Clifford, and should have been further ahead when they proceeded to miss several clear cut chances. Staverton scored a second and then had another disallowed for off side but the Buck's really deserved this win with their football at times was sublime. Carl Roles was voted the Jail Ale man of the match.
So they are in third place in the table behind Ipplepen and leaders Loddiswell who lost their first game of the season on Saturday going down 5-2 away at Riviera Spurs. Ozzy's match report to follow....
After three weeks playing against inferior opposition, this was an impressive display by Bucks against a useful Staverton side who will surely be one of their main rivals for promotion come the season's end.
Staverton's lively start, with their midfield pulling the strings for their sharp forwards, lived up to the reputation that had preceded them, and it was somewhat against the run of play when Bucks took the lead through Justin Osborne's conversion of a fine Carl Roles cross. Staverton deservedly equalised shortly after when Bucks defence did not deal with a high free kick in to the box and the game was evenly matched for much of the first half before Bucks blew the game open with 3 goals in a 10-minute spell just before the break.
The first of these saw Roles heading in completely unmarked from the 6-yard line and straight from the resulting kick-off Bucks struck again. Chris Bennett nicked the ball away from a Stavvy midfielder to allow Osborne to thread the ball through for Luke Crowson to calmly slide it past the advancing keeper. And almost on the stroke of half time, Bennett freed Roles down the middle to waltz around the keeper and stroke home.
As with much of the first, the 2nd half was a fairly even affair. Bucks went 5-1 up when Jamie Clifford converted another Roles cross before slack marking allowed Staverton to strike again with 15 minutes left. In truth, the scoreline could have been more flattering as Bucks must have missed 3 or 4 chances on the break in the last 10 minutes.
Whilst Dave Matthews deserves mention for a solid game, as does Carl Green's muscular deputising for the missing John Coote in midfield, the MOM award was deservedly given to Carl Roles. His was another fine twinkle-toed display which, so many times was he turned around, must have left the ageing Staverton right back with twisted blood.Saturday 19th September 2009 South Devon League Division One
Upton Athletic Reserves 0-4 Buckland Athletic 2nd's
Buckland 2nd team made it two consecutive wins when they travelled to Upton Athletic reserves and recorded a 4-0 victory, goals from Chris Bennett, Lee Pike, Jamie Clifford and James Wotton. Match report to follow....
After handing out two thrashings in the last two weeks, Bucks probably thought that there was going to be more of the same last week when they went 2-0 up in just 3 minutes. Chris Bennett was the first to strike when his near post drive was too powerful for the keeper, and Lee Pike finished off Jamie Clifford's cross just after to double the lead.
But Bucks then took their foot off the gas, sloppiness crept in and passes started going astray. Upton proved much more resilient than their previous opponents, and, as is always the way, Bucks struggled to get back on top. Having said that, despite having the most impressive forward on the pitch in Bayliss, Upton never really threatened Simon Dungey's goal. Bucks huffed and puffed to not much avail until Jamie Clifford nodded home Carl Roles lob just before half time.
The second half was much the same as the first, and Bucks never really got in to top gear before James Wotton completed the scoring with a top corner piledriver with 15 mins to go. Bucks will face a much stiffer test next week when last seasons losing Herald Cup finalists, much-fancied Staverton are the visitors to Homers Heath.Saturday 12th September Devon Senior Cup 1st Round
Buckland Athletic 18-0 Mortonhampstead
Bucks began their defence of the Senior Cup in emphatic style at a sunny Coach Road. In weather more suitable to cricket than football, it would have been possible for Bucks to have declared at half-time, by when they had already taken an unassailable 6-0 lead.
After a couple of scoreless games, new signing Jamie Clifford got off the mark in spectacular style. He led the way, scoring 3 by the half and ending up with 5 overall. Bucks midfield completely overwhelmed Moreton, cutting through their rearguard time after time. Carl Roles and Chris Bennett both got hat tricks as well, and the returning Matt Briant 2. Although Bucks will struggle to find more accommodating opponents this season, their prospects look bright with the pace and skill these 4 possess.
The scoring was completed by Lee Pike (2) and Justin Osborne, Scott Hayman and Danny Gaze with one apiece.
Bucks defence of the cup now moves to North Devon, as they face a trip to Barnstaple AAC in the second round on 10th October.Saturday 5th September 2009
Buckland Athletic 2nd Team remian in third place in the table even though they didn't play on Saturday. The otehr results from Division One this Saturay were, Galmpton Gents 3rd's 0-0 Upton Athletic Reserves; Harbertonford 3-1 Paignton Saints; Paignton Villa 1-2 Chudleigh Athletic; Riviera Spurs 3-4 Brixham Villa Reserves; Staverton & Landscove 1-2 Loddiswell Athletic. So Loddiswell stay top and still have their 100% record still in tacked.
Saturday 29th August 2009 South Devon League Division One
Galmpton Gents 3rd's 0-12 Buckland Athletic
Not much to say really! Galmpton started with just 10 then lost 1 through injury. They battled well and dungys only touch was 1 goal kick! Could and should have been alot more but we missed chances again but still its 3 points for us and our season is off!!
Pick of the goals was from right back Pillar who hit a 30 yard screamer into the top corner!
MOM awarded by Gary Hammond was Galmpton Keeper. In winning this game the 2nd's have climbed up to3 rd in the table.
Saturday 22nd August 2009 South Devon League Division One Buckland Athletic 2-3 Loddiswell Athletic
Not a good start for Bucks played very well but unfortunately missed chances and calamities at the back cost us the game in the end. Loddiswell had 2 shots and won 3-2!! Funny old game. Loddiswell went 1 up within a couple of minutes when a back pass came to Dungey and he kicked it at Loddiswell forward and went in. Bucks equalised when good play from playmaker Roles unselfishly passed the ball across the box for Oz to score a simple tap in. Half time 1-1.
2nd half and again not long after restart Hardy gave a free kick away on the edge of the box. Great strike from the player but Dungey couldn't get enough behind it and spilled into the corner 1-2.
Bucks then started taking control of the game and had several chances to take the lead but couldn't capitalise until a wicked cross found Coote to head home into the corner 2-2. Bucks should have gone on 2 get more goals and things looked brighter when Loddiswell lost their main centre half through injury but open goals and one on ones were missed (badly!) and with 4 minutes left Loddiswell took advantage of our numerous missed chances. Hardy was caught with the ball on his own and Loddiswell lively number 10 went on through 2 score a 1 on 1 for his 2nd of the day.
There were some good points from today's game for us but we HAVE to take our chances in this league to be in with a shout. Loddiswell battled very well and never gave up so fair play to them and best of luck to them for rest of season.
By the way Loddiswell are a massive team - talk about land of the giants!!!Under the new management of Jim Barrett and Paul Tucker, Buckland Athletic 2nd Team have made a number of new signing's ahead of the start of the South Devon League Division One season. In have come Casrl Roles and Jamie Clifford from Newton United. Also James Wotton has come in from Dawlish Town Reserves. And we have two player's returning to the club, firstly there is Mark Harding and secondly Paul Bowen who will start the season with the 3rd team.
Their league season startys on Saturday 22nd August when the 2nd’s will be at home to Loddiswell. The 2nd Team have been drawn away in the 1st Round of the Herald Cup to SDL Premier Division Kingsteignton and game will take place on the 24th October. In the Dartmouth Cup 1st Round they will travel to Harbertonford on the 2nd January 2010. In the Devon Senior Cup in which they are the holders they will start their defence with a home game against Morretonhampstead.
